Flexibility at Work: Iron Mountain – A Case Study on Workplace Change
A writeup of Iron Mountain’s new corporate headquarters appeared in the September/October edition of FMJ magazine. The case study on workplace flexibility was authored by Iron Mountain‘s VP of HR Business Partnerships, Kim Looby, Stegmeier Consulting Group‘s (SCG) Matthew Stegmeier, and Margulies Perruzzi Architects‘ (MPA) Janet Morra.
Iron Mountain hired Stegmeier Consulting Group to formalize a remote work program (Mobile Mountaineer Program), prepare its workforce for working in new ways, and lead change management efforts. MPA was engaged to design a high performance workplace that would enable Iron Mountain to attract and retain top talent, allow its employees to work more collaboratively, and give every “Mountaineer” an office environment they’d be proud to show off.
The FMJ case study details some of the challenges Iron Mountain was facing as an organization and how a talented, multifunctional team came together to lead a successful workplace initiative. If your organization is thinking about changing your physical work environment, or if you are considering implementing a telework program, we’d encourage you to contact us; we’d love to hear about your goals and challenges and provide you some guidance on how to get started. SCG is also happy to provide a PDF version of the case study to any interested party having difficulty with the above link.
